Swab Now handles sensitive testing information with clinical-grade care. This notice explains how health-related information in our service is protected.
How testing information is protected
Every collection session is protected with encryption in transit and at rest. Access to results is role-based: only authorized users in the ordering employer’s account can view them. Every access-relevant event is written to a tamper-evident audit log. Specimens sent for confirmation are analyzed by a SAMHSA-certified laboratory, and Medical Review Officer review is available before results are released.
About HIPAA
Workplace drug and alcohol test results ordered and paid for by an employer are generally treated as employment records rather than health care records. Where a part of our service involves protected health information under HIPAA, we apply safeguards consistent with the HIPAA Security Rule, including encryption, access controls, and audit logging, and we put appropriate agreements in place with vendors that handle that information. Questions about how your information is handled can be sent through the contact options at swabnow.com.
Donors
If you were tested as part of an employer’s program, your results belong to that program. Requests to review or correct your information should start with your employer. We support those requests with the underlying records, including the chain-of-custody documentation for your test.
